Go Green- New Green Patriot Posters
Reinvigorate Environmental Message
Green Patriot Posters is an arty hangover cure for Black
Friday, the day after Thanksgiving that has become
a national spasm of hyperconsumption.
Thumbing through the book's ecology-themed imagery,
created by multimediators like Shepard Fairey and DJ
Spooky, won't stab you in the gut with dogma — but it
could tickle your conscience.
"Co-editor Dmitri Siegel and I started Green Patriot
Posters because we felt the sustainability movement
needs better images and messages to connect with people,"
co-editor Edward Morris told Wired.com in an e-mail
interview. "It needs more positivity and urgency, and a
better connection to values that aren't simply about nature
and conservation, which not everybody cares about, but
also jobs and a better future."

Loretta Young and Sally Blaine
Loretta Young (top) was a favorite since I was a little girl when my
older sister and I would watch "The Loretta Young Show" together.
She made so many great movies and I've loved every one I've
seen.
Recently i came across this beautiful autographed photo of Loretta
Young's sister, Sally Blaine (who looked very much like Loretta),
Go to Things-and-other-stuff.com , a fantastic website for old movie
buffs (like me). I could thumb through the vintage cards,
photos and other collectables for hours and hours.

Betty Boop, Thrills And Chills 1938
It must be winter, it snowed in Alabama last night!
My idol and favorite cartoon character since I was 3, Miss Betty Boop.
In this episode, she was going on an ice skating trip by train with her sweet little
puppy Pudgy and an unwanted amourous passenger who managed to save the day
in exchange for a kiss.

Clara Bow - The "It" Girl
Clara Gordon Bow (July 29, 1905 – September 27, 1965) was
an American actress
who rose to stardom in the silent film era of the 1920s.
Her acting artistry and high spirits made her the premier flapper
and the film It (1927) made her world famous.
Bow came to personify the “roaring twenties” and is described as
its leading sex symbol. More here..
She's my very favorite actress from that era.

Giggling Girlfriends...
These Victorian ladies seem to be having so much fun dancing through the creek
in their petticoats. Makes me wonder what made them so carefree and happy. Possibly a few
empty bottles of Chablis tucked away in their picnic basket?
The original, unaltered image was found at The Graphics Fairy.

Pretty Boys
Versailles was formed in March 2007 with various
well-known members from Japan’s Visual Kei scen
The supergroup always performs in aristocratic French
gowns, as seen above.
And yes, as is the norm for Visual bands, all of the
skirt-wearing members are actually men.
